The popular promotion focused on the state's rich history of moonshining, with alternate jerseys and logos filled with meaning.
The logo scheme [shows] the method West Virginians traditionally used to produce the popular beverage as well as the methods they used to transport the moonshine throughout the mountainous regions. ...The copper signifies the color of the stills that were used during the production of moonshine. The black signifies the color of the cars that were used to transport the beverage during the prohibition era.
